It is no surprise to John Hallett that his âbig blue backyardâ contains three of the reefs voted Queenslandâs 10 best.
Mr Hallett and his wife Lyn have run a charter boat business out of Rosslyn Bay for the best part of 45 years.
But reaching the Crystal Blue Hole, about 270km offshore from Yeppoon, remains as âspectacularâ as when John first saw it. Crystal Blue Hole Adori Charters
âThe reef is structured out over the lagoon; you come over the bombies and itâs a nice cosy place to anchor,â he said.

Yeppoon Coast Guard went to the rescue of a power boat that had dragged its anchor and was pushed onto rocks overnight at Second Beach, Great Keppel Island.
The volunteer crew received the call from the Mackay-based owner on Thursday, February 4.
The extent of the damage was not known and the Yeppoon Rescue One with skipper Kingsley Bartle and crew arrived on scene at high tide ready to float the boat. The boat on the beach being wrapped in plastic.

Yeppoon Coast Guard was kept busy last week, with a number of vessels running into trouble in Capricorn Coast waters.
Yeppoon Rescue One assisted an 8m Leisure Cat with seven people on board at 2.52pm on December 21 after the vessel suffered engine trouble east of Flat Island.
One engine had stopped, and the boat was limping back to Rosslyn Bay Harbour at about 10 knots.
Coast Guard received a call from the vessel not long after informing the service it had lost the other engine.
Yeppoon Rescue One intercepted the vessel at 4.43pm and towed them back to Rosslyn Bay Harbour.
