A Waverly woman has been indicted by the Ross County Grand Jury for her role in the dragging death of a dog.
Cynthia K. Temple-Colburn, 48, has been indicted on a single fifth-degree felony charge of prohibitions concerning companion animals, and a single first-degree misdemeanor count of prohibitions concerning companion animals.
The charges stem from a July 6th incident where, according to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office, Ross County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an address on Mt. Tabor Road in regard to a dog being drug behind a vehicle. At the scene, witnesses informed Deputies they had seen a dog, covered in blood, being drug by its leash behind a white sedan. Deputies also witnessed a trail of blood along the roadway where the dog had been dragged. Witnesses said they tried to stop the woman, who eventually pulled over, but then backed up over the dog.
