The district was in Plan C, fully remote learning, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties. Superintendent Dr. Chip Buckwell said he was confident that today was the right day to return to in-person learning. “I’m very confident,” Buckwell said. “We had protocols in place when the school year started back in August and we’ve got the same protocols in place. We’ve practiced those for the last 6-7 months and I think we’re in a good spot to come back and our numbers in the county, both Cabarrus and Rowan, are coming down, so I feel like we’re in a good spot.”
