ZAGREB: The legendary Croatian film director/scriptwriter Bogdan Žižić died aged 86. He was one of the nation s most prominent authors for decades, helming over 100 short and documentary films.
He was the first director in Yugoslav history to win Golden Arenas at the national Pula Film Festival with both of his first feature films,
The House / Kuća, produced by Croatia film and Jadranfilm in 1975, and
Don t Lean Out the Window / Ne naginji se van, produced by the same companies in 1977.
Early in his career he positioned himself as one of the strongest voices of the Yugoslav anti-establishment cinema. Throughout his life he stayed dedicated to documenting lives of other artists and dissidents, winning international and national awards.
LJUBLJANA: The 24th Festival of Slovenian Film returns to Portorož with a new director Bojan Labović. The festival will take place 11-17 October 2021 and the submissions for the applications will be open in the second half of June 2021.

Netflix Gangster Series Clark Films in Croatia
RIJEKA: International film crews are flocking back to Croatia with at least eight new foreign projects expected until the end of 2021, after a year of delays due to the pandemic. One of the projects is the Netflix gangster series
Clark directed by Jonas Åkerlund and starring young Hollywood star Bill Skarsgård, which is currently shooting in Croatia.
The Swedish film crew started filming in Pula city centre and on surrounding beaches, and then moved to the nearby city of Rijeka. The filming will continue in the Kvarner region and will end in Zagreb.
Macedonian TV Series Zoki Poki Sold to Serbia
SKOPJE: The children series
Zoki Poki has been sold to the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). The rights for the series were also acquired for Denmark and Finland, in addition to the Swedish broadcaster SVT and its Norwegian counterpart NRK.
The British distributor Videoplugger has recently sold the 10-episode series to the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE as well as the Danish Broadcasting Corporation DR.
Zoki Poki is based on a Macedonian book of the same name by Olivera Nikolova and it premiered on 4 May 2020 on the Macedonian Radio Television. It is centered around young Zoki, who ponders life as it happens along with his three friends.
