SARATOGA SPRINGS A 21-year-old city man was arrested Friday after police responded to two burglaries in rapid succession early Friday morning on the city’s West Side.
Chad M. Cruger faces two felony charges of third-degree burglary, as well as two felony criminal mischief charges and seven related misdemeanor charges, city police said. He was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or a $50,000 bail bond.
Police said that officers on routine patrol at about 3:30 a.m. discovered a burglary at Roma Foods on Washington Street. Their investigation showed there had been a forced entry and items taken from inside the business. Shortly after, police received a call about a burglary in progress as a residence on Newton Avenue, at a property close to Roma Foods.
