Work progressing well on 36-home Spalding development

Work is continuing on a new housing development on the site of a former hospital in Spalding. Longhurst Group is building 36 new homes on the former Welland Hospital site in the town, and construction work is continuing at pace.
Work on the Welland Park development, which will comprise two and three-bedroom homes, started in July and now the first sign of the structures of the properties can be seen.
Marcus Keys, of the Longhurst Group, said he was delighted with progress.
He added: âWeâve faced a few challenges along the way thanks to the weather and the coronavirus pandemic, but weâre all really pleased with the progress being made at Welland Park.
Roadworks in Stamford will close Pinfold Lane, St Leonard s Street, St George s Street and Roman Bank
A council will be carrying out roadworks on four streets in Stamford over the coming weeks.
Pinfold Lane is due to close for three days from Wednesday (February 24) while Lincolnshire County Council carries out roadworks.
Nearby St Leonard s Street will be closed between the junctions of Gas Lane and St George s Street over the weekend of Saturday, March 6, and a small section of St George s Street will also be closed.

Moulton Seas End villagers hope that a solution has been found for flooding problem
There are hopes that a resolution has been found for villagers hit by flooding.
As reported previously in the Spalding Guardian, residents living on Roman Bank in Moulton Seas End have been left with gardens submerged in water after it was thought that a pipe used to drain water from a neighbouring field had become blocked.
Residents, who were calling for help from a number of authorities, including the South Holland Internal Drainage Board (IDB), say that there is hope in sight of bringing the flooding under control.

Schofield was later served with a postal requisition charging him with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
PC Rochelle Eves, who investigated, said: “It’s incredibly sad when we have to attend incidents where drivers have made a mistake resulting in tragedy.
“I would urge people to ensure they pay careful attention when driving, and be particularly aware of vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.
“We attend these kinds of incidents far too often and many are completely avoidable.”
Schofield pleaded guilty to the charge at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on June 29 last year.
Today (February 2) at Peterborough Crown Court he was handed an 18-month community order.
