Korean fried chicken joint Donkey Mo’s and Roba Katsu & Teriyaki will close their locations inside H Mart s popular food court later this month, with the owner citing not the pandemic, but irreconcilable differences with the Asian supermarket chain. “Due to disagreements with H Mart management, Roba Katsu and Donkey Mo’s will end its tenancy at the Market Eatery food court. It’s been a difficult relationship and we’re happy to be moving on,” says Min Choe, CEO of CKN Hospitality, which operates both concepts.

Located in the Lamar Union development at 1100 S. Lamar Blvd., Jjim Korean Braised BBQ practices its namesake Korean method of slow cooking, or braising, meat until tender. The concept is the latest from CKN hospitality, the powerhouse group behind Donkey Mo’s Korean Fried Chicken and Roba Katsu. On the menu are two types of Jjim: spicy pork rib Jjim and Galbi Jjim (made with beef short ribs). Each is served family-style in a cast-iron skillet alongside veggies and steamed rice. Customers can also enjoy such side dishes as soy pickles and fresh Geot Juhri kimchi, in addition to appetizers like Korean kimchi pancakes and Dubu Dubu fried tofu pockets. Restaurants opening in Austin and Central Texas in 2021 Austin 360 After the worst year for restaurants and their workers in memory, I’m happy to put 2020 in our rearview mirror and start thinking about what 2021 might look like.  With good and exciting news in short supply, it’s nice to think about what the new year will bring with it.  This list of forthcoming restaurants won’t be as robust as in years past, because most restaurant owners will probably spend most of their energy on their current projects, trying to figure out how to bridge through the spring and early summer to what promises to be a much brighter fall.
