Students at the University of Tennessee Knoxville will not see a tuition increase for the next school year, while other campuses will see increases around 2%.
UT Knoxville tuition and fees will remain flat for the second year in a row, the board of trustees voted Friday. UT Chattanooga will have a 2% increase, and UT Martin will have a 1.7% increase in the 2021-22 school year.
Over the past several years, tuition increases have been below 3%, and multiple times below 2%, across the UT System. Last year, there was no tuition increase at any campus because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It s been a period with the smallest tuition and fee increases, really, in the System history, Ron Loewen, assistant vice president of budget and planning, said Friday.
On Thursday, Feb. 25, the Board of Trustees held their winter meeting for the year. The committees that met were the Audit and Compliance Committee, the Education, Research and Service
