TEXARKANA, Ark. - While sacred burial grounds give us places to remember those who have gone before us, they can also serve as a way to preserve history.
The Old Rondo Cemetery does just that. It s located in a small community in Miller County, Ark., just northeast of Texarkana.
Old Rondo Cemetery is the oldest cemetery is Miller County. It was established in 1836. There s some really old headstones in this place and lots of history, said Ron Jordan, Rondo Cemetery Association president.
Jordan said the association s goal is to honor the pioneers who came before them. It is a cemetery of record. I was told. It s important to me the history of it that we would like to keep it in tact and try to keep it kept up, said Jordan.
No Permit Carry Bill Signed by Governor in Tennessee Jun 03, 2021 at 11:06 am by WGNS
Tennessee Governor Bill has signed the permit-less carry gun bill. WGNS’ Ron Jordan has more…
Tennessee now joins 18 other states with similar laws waiving carry permit requirements.
The bill focuses on those who are 21 and older, but also allows for members of the military who are 18 to 20-years-of-age to carry a handgun either open or concealed without a permit.
The new handgun carry laws do not allow for felons, those convicted of domestic violence crimes, stalking or anyone diagnosed with a mental illness to carry a handgun. Furthermore, if you were recently convicted on a DUI charge, you cannot carry a handgun.
