Giles Jackson played in integral role for Michigan’s football team in 2020, especially on special teams as the No. 1 returner.
The speedy 5-foot-9 receiver also finished third on the team with 14 catches for 167 yards last season. So when Jackson decided to enter the transfer portal last month, it came as a surprise to fellow junior wideout Mike Sainristil.

It’s still early, and the quarterback competition at Michigan is far from decided.
Yet two weeks into spring practice, junior Cade McNamara is making an impression on his teammates. It’s not like he hasn’t before he beat out Joe Milton for the starting job last fall, at least temporarily, before the Wolverines’ season was upended by COVID-19 concerns.
