Hulsmeyer is a 2021 graduate of Wynford High School and will be attending Rhodes State College in Lima this fall to obtain her associate’s degree in dental hygiene. “It is wonderful to see so many of our local students committed to community service and the betterment of our community overall.  Kearston exemplifies this and is very deserving of this scholarship,” said President of the Bucyrus Rotary Club and a member of this year’s scholarship committee, Ronda Scott.

Key player at Truman High School looks back on long career

The Examiner During the last nearly quarter of a century Truman High School has gone through countless changes – from a renovation in the classrooms, auditorium, band room and gymnasium to the new football and baseball fields, and the new softball and tennis complex that will be open this fall. But there has been one constant, as Marilyn Reinhard, a 1969 Truman graduate, has assisted the school s activities directors, beginning with Gary Bressman and running through Eric Holm and Daniel Bieser. After a 24-year career that included everything from coordinating player physicals and collecting tickets at games and school plays, to taking temperatures and checking checking on COVID protocol, Reinhard is retiring this month.

County clerks tallied one of the lowest voter turnouts for April’s vote in recent years. The Lawrence County count ran 9.13 percent with a little over 2,116 votes.
