With about two-and-a-half weeks left to file to run for places on the Greenville City Council or Greenville ISD School Board, so far eight candidates have signed up for a chance at the six seats that will be up for election in May.
For the city council elections, two current councilmen â Jerry Ransom, who is serving District 1, and Cedric Dean, who represents District 6 â have filed to run for the office of mayor.
