Review: Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish in Here Today | iNFOnews | Thompson-Okanagan s News Source

Jake Coyle May 05, 2021 - 11:47 AM A sleepy and aimless stab at something earnestly “feel-good, “Here Today is a wasted pairing of Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish that juggles dementia, grief and family squabbles about as adeptly as a daytime soap. “Here Today,” which opens in theatres Friday, is genial and gentle enough to make it mildly restive. It is, in scenes around leafy Brooklyn Heights, at least leisurely. The film, written by Alan Zweibel and Crystal and based on a short story by Zweibel, is Crystal s first time directing in 20 years — since the Roger Maris HBO film “61(asterisk). That, a Yankee story, was more in Crystal s wheelhouse. The tones here, though, are more ambitious and out of reach for the limp “Here Today.”

Posted on April 28, 2021 | 8:01 p.m. Source: McDermott-Crockett Mortuary Garrett Michael Van Wyk Garrett Michael Van Wyk, 85, passed away of natural causes on April 24, 2021, at his home in Santa Barbara. Magnanimity, or greatness of soul, reflects well the 85 larger-than-life years Garrett Michael Van Wyk graced this earth. Born Aug. 4, 1935 in Bismarck, North Dakota, Garry would soon be hurling fastballs at Roger Maris in Fargo with the American Legion, pushing the aerobatic limits of the T-28 Trojan in Naval flight training over the Florida coast, and assembling the Pacific fleet at sea from inside the USS Hancock. His eyes would sometimes glisten as he’d describe the reward for his all-night navigational work: witnessing the convergence of the planet’s greatest nuclear task force, the U.S. Pacific fleet, silhouetted against the morning dawn. “The call-sign was ‘Rampage.’ ” he would recall. “I loved our call-sign.”

Amazon On Track To Beat Walmart As Biggest US Retailer By 2025 Amazon  (NASDAQ:AMZN)  is set to overtake  Walmart  (NYSE:WMT)  as the biggest U.S. retailer by 2025, according to a new report. Yet just like Major League Baseball did to Roger Maris after he passed Babe Ruth s home run record in 1961, Amazon will need to tack an asterisk onto the achievement, because its growth isn t the milestone it initially appears. In a report by Bloomberg, e-commerce data company Edge by Ascential says within four years consumers will purchase $632 billion worth of goods from Amazon, compared to $532 billion at Walmart. This is where the caveat is needed.
