ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WTVD) Roanoke Rapids Police are investigating after two people were shot at Walmart on Friday. It happened about 11:40 a.m. at the Walmart Supercenter at 251 Premier Blvd, Roanoke Rapids Chief of Police Bobbie Martin said. As two people were driving through the parking lot and passed the grocery entrance, a person walked out of the store and fired into the car, Martin told ABC11. Two people in the car were struck. Four men charged with murder after police find body in trunk during traffic stop

The decedent, identified as Trevon Quantavius Fields, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, suffered apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators later learned he was likely murdered just outside the city limits, although further details were not provided. Police detectives called deputies from the sheriff’s office to assist in the investigation, which led to the arrests of the four occupants of the vehicle, Fox reported. Ralik Robinson, 22; Trevathann Myquan Shearin, 20; Shantron Avondre Person, 20 – all of Roanoke Rapids – and Deluntae Jaequon Squire, 23, of Halifax, were all charged with murder, according to the sheriff’s office. The four men were booked into Halifax County Detention Center with a pending court date set for Jan. 20.
