2021 NFL Draft: Best linebacker depth options for Bears
The Bears could look for one of these 2021 draft prospects to shore up their depth at the inside linebacker position.

In retrospect, the structuring of Danny Trevathan’s contract extension may not have been the smartest thing the Bears have ever done.
With two more years remaining on a deal with no real opportunity to get out of the contract and save cap room, the Bears will have a decent amount of money tied up to a linebacker who showed signs of slowing down in 2020.
That’s not to say Trevathan was bad, as he had his fair share of strong games and held his own against the run. However, it is apparent that he’s not as quick as he was earlier in his career, which has provided for some issues in coverage: he was in the bottom 20 in completion percentage allowed and had the seventh-worst passer rating allowed among linebackers.

Pick 9 trade back with New England for Pick 15 and 46 (New England gets Trey Lance in this scenario and I m fine with that)
Pick 15 - Greggory Rousseau, Edge, Miami - I have gushed about Rousseau before, and I am still really high on him. Simply watching his game tape he just flat out pops. I think in this scenario if he s on the board here, we take him in a heart beat. I know this doesn t address the CB position, but honestly he can make up for a bunch of sins in the DBs.

MOBILE, Ala. - This year’s Senior Bowl event was unique for two reasons. There was a ton of excitement for Senior Bowl week in Mobile being moved from Ladd-Peebles Stadium to Hancock Whitney Stadium, the new home of the South Alabama Jaguars football team. Unfortunately, the impact of COVID-19 left a serious impression on the 2020 College Football season and Senior Bowl week. It was, however, not too much of a negative impact to cancel the event or alter it tremendously like the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine.

Alabama center Landon Dickerson served as a team captain for the American squad at the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Saturday, even though a knee injury kept him from practicing during the week and sidelined him for the annual all-star game.
“He didn’t get to play, but I wanted to make sure he had a chance to be recognized,” said Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule, whose staff handled the Americans for the game. “He’s given great energy all week.”
