Alba, Eatery A owner Jason Simon purchases former Saints Pub + Patio building in Beaverdale Kim Norvell, Des Moines Register The owner of popular Des Moines restaurants Eatery A and Alba has purchased a Beaverdale building that previously housed Saints Pub + Patio, according to the Realtor who brokered the sale.  Jason Simon plans to open a Detroit-style pizzeria in the space at 4041 Urbandale Ave., according to real estate agent Matt Connolly, who specializes in Beaverdale listings.  Simon could not immediately be reached for comment.  Saints Pub + Patio closed in December after Gov. Kim Reynolds imposed extra restrictions  since lifted  on bars and restaurants amid a spike in COVID-19 infections. Scott Anderson, a partner in the pub s owner, Riley Drive Entertainment, said at the time that Saints would reopen in the spring, when more customers could be accommodated with patio seating.
