Golfers Kelly Tan, Alyaa Abdulghany and Gavin Green all made Malaysia proud with their breakthrough performances this year. The 27-year-old Kelly, who turned professional in 2013, outdid her previous feats on the LPGA Tour, despite competing in only 15 events in the pandemic-shortened calendar. Kelly s much-improved stats was highlighted by her 54th placing on the Official Money List with US$223,397 (RM904,000), surpassing her previous best of US$153,762 (RM623, 000) in 2016. The Malaysian concluded the season in a career-high 37th position on LPGA Tour s Race to CME Globe, surpassing her previous highest of 83rd in 2016.

She will play in the prestigious competition on Dec 21-23 at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida. Alyaa, a senior at University of Southern California, is ranked 34th in the World Golf Amateur Golf Ranking. The 21-year-old, who also played in the Sea Games in the Philippines last year, won this year s Australian Master of the Amateurs and made the quarterfinals of the US Women s Amateur Championship.
