The Atlas picked short-stick defensive midfielder Peter Dearth to begin the third round with the 17th overall pick. 2021 PLL College Draft: IL Mock Draft Projects Sowers No 1 to the Atlas

Photo courtesy of Duke Athletics) After consulting the experts and coaches, Inside Lacrosse’s PLL College Mock Draft consists of a few surprises. Most notably is leading Tewaaraton favorite Jared Bernhardt’s drop to the third round due to his desire to play football, as reported by Ty Xanders. Though Bernhardt’s stellar season has shown his potential to play as any of these team’s No. 1 attackman, his past as a midfielder shows his versatility as a pro that offers even more value. His football intentions certainly shook things up at the top.  Moreover, top cover defenseman JT Giles-Harris and Jack Kielty have some draft stock worries with their off-field pursuits. Giles-Harris still may hold out to play football and Kielty’s desire to become a Navy SEAL is well-known, but neither fall as far as Bernhardt.

Devitte: Team MLL vs the PLL

Photos by MLL/Pretty Instant) There are times in life when you need to step back from Twitter (and social media in general) because it can infect you with all manner of negativity and malaise. Then there are times when the gods of modern digital interaction bestow upon you the gift of ideas. This is the latter. Ever since the PLL absorbed the MLL and offered up the Cannons as recompense, I have been asked which MLL players will make the jump. I gave my initial reaction there, but I felt like I needed to do more. There is so much more to say. How can you distill an entire professional league into one team? How does that team look on paper? Could that team beat a PLL team?
