Eric Woodrow Hayes, 41, died from injuries at a hospital after being shot Saturday night, July 24, at the Loaf N Jug at 1201 N. University Drive, the Fargo Police Department confirmed Monday. Officers have arrested 40-year-old Raymond Christoph Gunn of Fargo on suspicion of murder.

“And he was my rock and I was his,” said Kristie Janssen.
Hayes was shot and killed outside of a gas station on Saturday night and his murder leaves his family in pieces.
“He was the one that kept us safe and made sure nothing happen to us,” Kristie’s daughter Jaxson Janssen said.
His fiancé describes Eric as a caring, loyal, family man and she is in disbelief.
“He was a really good man he always helped people whenever he could he loved anybody he came in contact with he just had that spirit that everybody wanted to know him and he is going to be missed by a lot of people including us and his family,” Kristie said.

FARGO, N.D. A Fargo man is arrested for murder.
Police say 40-year-old Raymond Gunn shot a man late Saturday night in the 1200 block of North University Drive.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired around 11 p.m. at Loaf ‘N Jug near the NDSU campus.
When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound and Gunn was nearby.
He was taken into custody without incident.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police say his name will be released on Monday.
The investigation is ongoing.

FARGO Instead of celebrating his 41st birthday Sunday, July 25, the victim s family and friends spent the day grieving and wondering what happened.
His fiancé, who we are not identifying so not to ID the victim until all of his family is notified, said her fiancé left the house at 10 p.m. Saturday night to go visit a friend s house. Told me to go to sleep, and he loved me, and he would be home soon . I told him to hurry home, she recalled.
