WisDOT names Excellence in Construction award winners By: Daily Reporter Staff February 2, 2021 9:42 am The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has given its Excellence in Large Structures Award to Lunda Construction Co., of Black River Falls, for the construction of the WIS 82 Point Bluff Bridge over the Wisconsin River in Adams and Juneau counties. (Photo courtesy of WisDOT) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced six Excellence in Construction Awards for 2020 during its annual Contractor-Engineer Conference. The top winners include an asphalt-paving project in Lincoln County, a concrete-paving project in Outagamie County, a grading project in Kenosha County, a small bridge project in Jackson County, a large bridge project in Adams and Juneau counties and a large-contract project in Dane County.

Battle Creek police were called to the 500 block of Capital Avenue Northeast where the victim, a man, 43, said the other man fired several shots at him from a .40 caliber handgun. The alleged shooter and two women had come to the house to retrieve the children of one of the women  when they said the older man came outside with two baseball bats and began hitting the younger man s truck. Body found in Lake County last week identified, cause of death deemed not suspicious

LUTHER — A body found near Luther earlier this month has been identified following an autopsy. On Friday at approximately 4:50 p.m., deputies were called to the area of Raymond Road and 4 1/2 Mile Road in Ellsworth Township for a subject that was found deceased. The subject was located outside, appeared to have been there for an extended period of time, and was in a state of advanced decomposition, according to the press release. The body was recovered with the assistance of the Michigan State Police Crime Lab and the Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy was ordered for identification purposes and to determine the cause and manner of death.
