Graham, N.C. Randleman pitcher Ryan White threw a no-hitter as the Tigers claimed the NCHSAA 2A State Championship with a 4-0 win over R-S Central in Game 3 at Burlington Athletic Stadium on Saturday.
White went the full seven innings for the Tigers (19-2, 12-0 PAC 7 2A), allowing no runs on no hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts. It was the second no-hitter of the weekend, following Reagan pitcher Carter Boyd s no-hitter in Game 1 of the 4A series.
Hayden Wheeler was saddled with the loss for the Hilltoppers (17-4, 11-1 Southwestern 2A), allowing four runs on three hits with five strikeouts in two and one-third innings. Relief pitcher Kael Snethen kept R-S Central in the game with a solid outing, allowing no runs on three hits with two strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings.
