Hawaii Supreme Court May Lift COVID-19 Order To Free Inmates Without Bail

The Hawaii Supreme Court on Wednesday limited the kinds of inmates who will qualify for speedy release from jail under a regime that was supposed to limit the spread of COVID-19 inside state correctional facilities.
The court also instructed supporters to demonstrate why the quick-release program that has been in place since last summer is still needed.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man accused in what prosecutors called a âsexual assault spreeâ is roaming free this week after being released, despite multiple charges.

Prosecutors say he was first arrested on March 3. Since then, Jacob has been arrested and charged multiple times, often for fourth-degree sexual assault.
