Bandrum Nursing home honoured in Scottish Care Awards

A WEST FIFE care home has picked up two accolades in the Scottish Care Awards. Bandrum Nursing Home was first in both the Training and Development and the Positive Impact categories and also finished third in the Palliative and End-of-Life Care section. In winning the training and development award, its management team was recognised as one of the leading care home teams in Scotland. The honour acknowledges the importance of continuous training and learning within care home services. Victoria Barter-Wilson, HR manager at Bandrum, said the team was delighted to be recognised. The past year has been difficult for everyone but it has been especially difficult for our care homes as the COVID-19 virus has presented a particular threat to the lives of residents and staff in care homes for adults, she said.

Growing up, I never realised bodies were seasonal. My body worked pretty similarly all year round. Sure, after a day at the beach, I may have gained a few freckles, a tan (or more realistically a blotchy sunburn in stubborn retaliation against my mum’s insistence to apply lotion), but otherwise, I looked pretty similar. My body didn’t stop being a body with the sudden change in temperature. I wasn’t, and am still not, a weather dependent entity. Why is it then, that after scrolling through my Instagram with summer approaching, I’m often left feeling unsure and insecure about whether I’m ‘bikini body’ ready?
