The candidates all submitted their names this month ahead of the Aug. 10 special election to fill Selectboard seats left open after two members stepped down in the spring. The final list of candidates includes former Selectboard member Mike Morris, who’s running against Hartford Health Officer Brett Mayfield for the remainder of a three-year seat, set to end in 2023.

They are the fourth and fifth members to resign from the seven-member board in less than a year. In her resignation letter submitted Thursday, Dalphin said she had accepted a new job as a chief quality officer for a home health agency in Barre, Vt., in February, shortly before she was elected to the board in Town Meeting voting. She wrote that she’d hoped to juggle work and board duties but said her busy schedule has forced her to miss three Selectboard meetings already.
