South Cumbria Magistrates Court A MOTORIST has been told to carry out unpaid work after he failed to provide a specimen of breath to police. Peter Stevens was said to have refused to give the specimen for a laboratory test when asked by police in Barrow on May 2. The Dalton man pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates Court. Stevens, 50, of Baker Close, was ordered to complete 50 hours of unpaid work. He was banned from driving for 17 months, told to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

The 50-year-old is due to appear at Barrow Magistrates this morning.
