CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Motherâs Day is a time show you mom just how much you appreciate her. After being stuck in the house last year, some said this time around is extra special
âEvery moment is one to cherish,â Renee Peters said.
Today families filled the seats in restaurants, to help celebrate Motherâs Day like most normally would, unlike last year.
âComing off the year that weâve all had its a time to stand back, reflect everything that we do have. And have the children are here with me, happy and healthy, and just every moment is one to cherish,â Peters said.

On Feb. 6, 2021, at about 12:30 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a probation search at a residence on the 100 block of Palmer Boulevard in the county’s jurisdiction of Fortuna.
Deputies contacted and detained two people on scene. During a search of the residence, deputies located approximately 5.3 ounces of heroin, prescription medication, items consistent with the sale of controlled substances and a large amount of cash.
William Henry Jeffers, age 25, was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales and violation of probation.
