LEXINGTON TWP. – Marlington Local Board of Education continued its recent course of approving new administrative contracts with the hiring of Ashley Weber as Lexington Elementary School principal.
Weber was given a two-year contract that will take effect Aug. 1. She currently is curriculum consultant with the Columbiana County Educational Service Center. Prior to that she has elementary principal experience, Superintendent Michael Shreffler said. We had quite a few applicants. We did several rounds of interviews. Her experience and her knowledge made her a standout.
Weber had been an elementary school principal in the Malvern-based Brown Local School District.
At Lexington Elementary, Weber will succeed Renee Kaley, whom the board earlier approved an administrative contract to be curriculum director for the school system.

What is the most rewarding part of your position? Honestly, there are so many things that I love about being a principal here in Marlington from the collaborative conversations I have with my colleagues to the excitement I hear in my teachers’ voices when we talk about curriculum opportunities. However, I would have to say the most rewarding part of being a principal at Lexington is getting to see the pure joy on my students’ faces while they are learning. There is absolutely nothing that tops seeing a child succeed.
