The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that a staff member at Valour JK-12 School in Petawawa and a student at Champlain Discovery Public School in Pembroke, have tested positive for novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
RCDHU is working closely with the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff, students and the public, according to a release issued Tuesday morning. The RCDHU sent a media release on Sunday confirming three staff at the unidentified office had tested positive for COVID-19. Two confirmed cases that are linked within the organization meets the provincial guideline for the declaration of a workplace outbreak, the RCDHU said. The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU), is confirming that three staff at a Pembroke dental office have tested positive for COVID-19. Two confirmed cases that are linked within the organization meets the provincial guideline for the declaration of a workplace outbreak, the RCDHU noted in a release issued Sunday afternoon. The health unit added it is working closely with the Pembroke dental office to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff and the public.
While the health unit did not identify the dental office, on Dec. 16, Dr. James Gallant Dentistry posted a note on its Facebook page that it had made the decision to close until the New Year after it learned about positive COVID-19 tests. It also provided additional information about the exposure.

The Renfrew County and District Health Unit says three staff members at a Pembroke dental office have tested positive for COVID-19.
The health unit is working closely with the Pembroke dental office to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff and the public.
All individuals who have been deemed to be close contacts of the positive cases, have been given direction by RCDHU staff to immediately self-isolate and arrange for testing.
Patients who are considered to be at low risk, are being contacted by the dental office with instructions to self-monitor and if symptoms develop, to call the Renfrew County Virtual Triage Assessment Centre (RC VTAC) at 1-844-727-6404 to book an appointment for testing.

Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) in collaboration with the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB), is confirming that a staff member at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Petawawa, has tested positive COVID-19.
All students and staff who have been deemed to be a close contact of the positive case, have been given direction to go home immediately to self-isolate and arrange for testing. The school remains open to in-person learning for all other students and staff, according to a release issued by the RCDHU Thursday afternoon.
