There are seven new positive cases of COVID-19 in Renfrew County and district, including two health-care workers employed in RCD and a staff member at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Petawawa.
The Dec. 17 case summary on the Renfrew County and District Health Unit website shows 16 active cases with all of the individuals self-isolating. Since the health unit revamped the case summary to include the number of cases in each municipality in RCD, it has opted to suppress all numbers less than five to protect the privacy of residents living in smaller communities. In terms of active cases, there are six in Whitewater Region and less than five each in Pembroke, Petawawa, Laurentian Valley, Arnprior and McNab Braeside.
