Dealer news Well known truck dealer Dave Watts has passed away suddenly, just weeks away from his 73rd birthday. Dave is probably best known to CM readers from his time as the owner of Renault Trucks dealership Staffordshire CV in Stoke-on-Trent, where one of his proudest achievements was supplying a fleet of Magnums to the Jordan F1 team. Since selling up to Allports a decade ago, “Watty” has been operating as an independent truck broker. The many tributes to Dave are summed up by Thompsons Group MD Scott Burton, describing him as “A genuine, straight talking man who didn’t suffer fools and just wanted to offer the best he could for those who trusted their business with him. The industry will miss him.”
