The Twingo Won t Live Past Its Current Generation, But Renault Won t Abandon Segment (Update)

Renault replied to CarScoops essentially confirming the news that the Twingo will be phased off after the end of its product cycle. However, Renault spokesperson, Yann Chénot, told us that the company will not leave the city car segment with the Twingo to be essentially replaced by a production car based on the Renault 5 EV prototype.  “Luca de Meo statements in the press refer to the upcoming EURO 7 regulatory deadline,” said Chenot. “The Twingo was renewed in 2019 (2nd phase of a 3rd generation launched in 2014) with an electric version launched at the end of 2020 and a Sce65 petrol version still available in the catalogue. It will continue its life cycle until then.”

Lada Previews All-New Niva SUV, Set To Debut In 2024

Lada is undergoing a massive transformation under the tutelage of the Renault Group and we can already expect four all-new models from them by 2025. Of those four models, one will be the all-new generation Niva SUV, as seen here in this official teaser, followed a year later by a new C-segment SUV, which will come out around the same time as the production Dacia Bigster. The two will share the same CMF-B platform, also used by the latest Logan and Sandero, as well as Renault’s Clio and Captur and Nissan’s Juke and Note. Now back to the Niva teaser, with the brightness level increased in order to take a better look at it. First impression: it looks relatively compact, rugged and capable, even though those wheels seem oversized (well, it’s just a sketch after all). It has a lot of robust design elements, with the front fascia featuring L-shaped LED daytime running lights with indicators on top, just like the original.

Bigster Concept Previews Dacia s New Flagship SUV Coming In 2025

Rumors surrounding a new Dacia flagship SUV have been circulating for years, and the Romanian automaker (through its parent company Renault) has just put an end to them by presenting the Bigster Concept. The study offers an initial glimpse into the brand’s second SUV after the Duster, which will launch by 2025, according to the official road map released by the Renault Group earlier today, joining two new B-segment cars due in 2022 and 2024. At 4.6 meters (181 in) long, the Bigster is almost as big as the Skoda Kodiaq, which measures 4,697 mm (185 in) in length, making it 280 mm (11 in) longer than the second generation Duster. As a result, it promises to offer “a very spacious interior”, according to the automaker, and should get the option of a third row, previous reports have shown, but this has yet to be confirmed.

Renault Debuts New Mobilize Brand With Tiny EZ-1 Electric Two Seater

This is the new Mobilize EZ-1 Prototype, a new concept for shared urban mobility and the first product of Renault Group’s new Mobilize brand. Mobilize will offer purpose-designed vehicles for mobility services, such as EV charging, finance, and subscription, as well as data processing software, maintenance and recycling services for car-sharing fleets. Renault’s new mobility unit is currently developing four vehicles for ride-sharing and last-mile delivery, with the first one being the EZ-1. The tiny two-seater EV measures 2.3 meters long and features top-to-bottom glass doors for a “completely uninterrupted view of the surrounding urban landscape”. In addition, the new Mobilize EZ-1 features an innovative battery exchange system, as an alternative to the traditional charging infrastructure, to ensure that it can be used non-stop without having to be out of service.
