A Dhaka tribunal today framed charges against Abdul Malek, a driver of the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS), in a case filed over possessing an illegal firearm and ammunition in September last year.
Malek, now in jail, pleaded not guilty and demanded justice after KM Emrul Kayesh of the Special Tribunal-1 of Dhaka read out the charges to him.
Earlier in the day, the judge rejected petition submitted for discharging him from the case.
The tribunal then set April 5 for starting a trial of the case.

Chaitanya, PRO, Mumbai Police on Saturday told ANI that the police had retrieved fake documents from the Bangladeshi national s house. The accused has been booked under Foreigners Act, 1946 and IPC sections related to forged and fake documents, he added.

Mumbai: Days after his photo with arrested illegal Bangladeshi migrant Rubel Shaikh emerged on social media, BJP MP Gopal Shetty on Sunday said that the person in the photograph had met him at his office and got a photograph clicked with him.
Shaikh was arrested earlier this month by the Malvani police. Shaikh, a resident of Bovaliya village in Bangladesh had been living in the country without a valid visa since 2011, police said.
Shetty also said that they (BJP) want the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to be implemented so that illegal Bangladeshis living here can be sent back.

Earlier this month, Mumbai Police had arrested a man named Rubel Sheikh on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh who has turned out to be a local BJP leader.
The Mumbai police said Sheikh was arrested for living in India with forged documents and is an alleged Bangladeshi national.
