Anne Rogers writes that Adalberto Mondesi felt something “minor” in his game on Monday, and the team sidelined him out of caution.
“Going in and talking to him today, he felt so dejected the fact that he was going to be a big part of what we were doing [the] first day,” Matheny said. “But we all know things happen and we’re going to have to pivot. That’s just part of this game.”
The move is retroactive to Tuesday, but Matheny said Mondesi’s recovery could take “at least a couple weeks.” He is in Kansas City and is shut down from most activity for now.

NEW ORLEANS & BIRMINGHAM – The New Orleans Pelicans today announced that David Lane has been named the General Manager of Business Operations for the franchise’s NBA G League affiliate, which is set to begin play in Birmingham, Alabama at Legacy Arena beginning in the 2021-22 season.
With over 20 years of experience in minor league baseball, Lane joins the Pelicans organization after spending the last 14 years within the Houston Astros organization, most recently serving as the General Manager of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Single-A), where he oversaw the launch of the franchise, and before that serving as the General Manager of the Greeneville Astros (Rookie League). While with Greeneville, Lane won consecutive Appalachian League Executive of the Year honors in 2009 and 2010, and received the Appalachian League’s Promotional Award of Excellence in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Now they re busy getting ready for another exciting year of offering slow-pitch softball and T-ball for area youth.
These recreational leagues are open to all children in the Cedar Valley area and surrounding communities. Parents, it s hard to find fun, inexpensive things to keep keep your kids active in a safe outside environment. It s also a great place to develop and work on your child s skills, all while having fun on a team.
