LONDON (AP) Albert Roux, the French-born chef and restaurateur who along with his late brother Michel had a profound influence on British dining habits, has died at 85. Roux died Monday.
Close links: the family established the Roux Scholarship in Ealing UNIVERSITY leaders in Ealing have paid tribute to chef Albert Roux, an honorary professor who spread his passion for food to hundreds of students. Roux – a world renowned chef and restaurateur who brought French cooking to the UK with his brother Michel – died this week, aged 85. As well as being an honorary graduate of UWL’s London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism, he features on its ‘wall of fame’ of inspirational chefs. James Edmunds, dean of the college, said: “This is incredibly sad news for all of us at UWL. It has been a real honour and privilege to be involved with Albert and the family over the years, both in the industry and at the university.”
