Albany police are investigating a homicide that occurred Monday night on Wilbur Street.
Just before 9:30, officers responded to the area just east of Philip Street for reports of shots fired. Shortly after the call, staff from Albany Memorial notified police that 15-year-old Destiny Greene of Latham, entered their emergency room with a gunshot wound. Through the investigation, it was determined that Greene was shot during the incident on Wilbur Street. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Earlier Monday afternoon, a 22-year-old man was struck in the back by a bullet in the area of Clinton Avenue and Lexington Avenue. He went to Albany Med to be treated for a non-life threatening injury.
