Pitbull attack in Rio Bravo leaves child in critical condition

A 1-year-old girl has been taken to San Antonio after a pitbull attack reported in the City of Rio Bravo, according to the Webb County Sheriff’s Office.
At about 6:39 p.m. Friday, paramedics at Fire Station No. 14 in the Cielito Lindo Subdivision received a walk-in patient.
A 15-month-old child had been attacked by the family pitbull. She was treated and taken in critical condition to Laredo Medical Center. She was then taken to San Antonio.
Sheriff’s officials said they responded to a dog bite report in the 1500 block of Margarita Lane. Rio Bravo Fire Department were the first ones to arrive. Rio Bravo crews took the child to Laredo while being escorted by the Sheriff’s Office. Rio Bravo animal control handled the pitbull.
