ALLENTOWN, PA - The Binghamton Devils waited until the final five minutes to attempt to make up for an uninspiring performance early on, but it was not enough to recover from as they fell short to the hands of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms by a score of 3-0 on Saturday at PPL Center.
This was not even a close game as the final results would perhaps otherwise indicate based on shots alone, as the Phantoms simply skated circles around Binghamton for the majority of the night, while the Devils looked and played tired hockey.
(WBNG) The Binghamton Devils are off to a 2-0 start to the season after two overtime wins this week.
One of game-winning goals came from defenseman Reilly Walsh Monday night, as the B-Devils topped the Penguins 4-3.
Walsh credited the entire team for the way they played three-on-three. I kind of just hopped out there and picked up the loose puck, made a pass up to Footer (Nolan Foote), he made a good little move in the middle and chipped it wide to Schmelzy (Ryan Schmelzer) and Schmelzy had a really good play drawing two guys over and making a good backhand pass, said Walsh. I just tried to collect it and shoot it as fast as I could and found a way through and the rest is kind of there.

WILKES-BARRE, PA - It’s been 334 days since the last time the Binghamton Devils played a game as they started right where they left off with a thrilling 4-3 OT win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Monday at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Danick Martel, Ryan Schmelzer, and Nolan Foote each contributed a goal and an assist, while Reilly Walsh scored the game-winner in overtime for his first professional goal. Defenseman Michael Vukojevic also added two assists in his pro debut.
Down 3-1 entering the third, the BDevils put the pedal to the metal and tied it as they peppered goaltender Emil Larmi with 15 shots compared to just four for the Pens. This was a make-up game with the postponement over the weekend due to Covid-19 last Saturday.
