In her poem The Front Desk, she pays tribute to her “empathetic, gutsy, blunt, charming and hilarious colleagues”, according to the organisers of the awards.

There were nearly 500 submissions for the awards.
Criminal defence barrister trainee Violet Smart won the written word prize for a poem written in English and Spanish.
The poem was inspired by a cleaner who worked at her university.

NEWTON Registered Democrats and Republicans will go to the polls Tuesday in the state s primary election to decide which candidates will carry the party banner into the November elections.
The County Clerk s office will be open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon for early in-person voting. It is too late to apply for a mail-in ballot, however, the clerk s office will be open during normal business hours Friday and Monday for people to apply for a ballot in person.
The office is located in the Cochran House Building, 83 Spring St.
Republicans will also elect their local representatives to the state and county party committees on Tuesday. Democrats vote in even-numbered year primary.
