The women’s tennis team relied on its young talent to claim the program’s third national championship and the school’s second of the year, while the baseball team needed a little help from the Kansas State Wildcats to bring their title home. The softball team is heading to Stillwater for an NCAA Super Regional, while both the men’s and women’s golf teams have a shot at adding to the school s annual championship number.

The men’s and women’s track and field teams both secured the outdoor conference championships, giving them the indoor and outdoor crowns. Not to be outdone, rowing swept all of the events in the conference championship, the sixth-consecutive for Texas. McMurry sets summer theater season and 2021-22 lineup

Coming out of great unknown this time last year, when COVID-19 held a deadly grip on the nation, McMurry University found a way to bring back live theater. Kerry Goff, the theater department head, had to revise his three-show summer schedule due largely to getting the rights to shows, but he came up with a Plan B. He would take two shows, Steel Magnolias and The Fantasticks, outdoors. Yes, into the summer heat. The shows were performed on an elevated stage at the university s Quad. Actors were spread across the stage and did not physically interact. Audiences were limited in number and seated apart, usually under the nearest tree. That alone encouraged social distancing.
