Police identify two shooting victims June 01 2021
Police have identified two people recently shot and killed in Portland.
According to police, Freddy Nelson, 49, was killed in a Lowe s parking lot in North Portland on Saturday, May 29.
Police said the person who shot Nelson is an armed security guard hired to patrol businesses in the Delta Park area. The security guard remained at the scene and was interviewed by detectives.
The Medical Examiner determined Nelson died from gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.
This is an ongoing investigation that will be submitted to the Multnomah County District Attorney s Office for review.

A man was shot and killed in a hardware store parking lot in North Portland on Saturday night, police said.
Officers responded about 7 p.m. to a report of a shooting off of North Hayden Meadows Drive, where they found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.
No arrests have been made. Officers are speaking to witnesses at the scene, police said.
Police have not publicly identified the man, who is one of 37 people killed in Portland homicides this year and was the second homicide in Portland on Saturday. Another unidentified man was shot and killed in Southeast Portland early Saturday morning.

Police are investigating a homicide Wednesday in North Portland after a person was found shot dead in an apartment, officials said.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots near North Willamette Boulevard and North Charleston Avenue about 10:45 a.m., police said in a statement.
Investigators discovered the victim, whom police did not identified, dead in a nearby apartment, police said. They did not provide a description of any suspects and did not say if arrests had been made.
