HOXIE, Ark. (KAIT) - The high school principal at Hoxie is now on administrative leave, the school districtâs attorney said Thursday.
Attorney Rebecca Worsham said in a statement to Region 8 News that Lori McKenzie was placed on leave.
âThe Hoxie High School principal is currently on administrative leave. Superintendent Kelly Gillham will be assuming the role of principal during this time to ensure the success of our students and staff,â Worsham said in the statement. âDue to personnel privacy laws, the District cannot provide more information.â

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) -A Paragould elementary school student is now recovering at home after being taken to a local hospital Thursday after being struck by a school bus.
According to a statement from school district attorney Rebecca Worsham, the second-grade student was taken to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.
“The student was awake and alert while being transported from the accident scene to AMMC. The student was released from the hospital earlier this evening,” Worsham said Thursday. “No other students were injured.”

CORNING, Ark. (KAIT) - A school employee has been placed on leave after administrators say a sleeping child was left onboard a bus.
The alleged incident happened Friday, Feb. 5, according to Rebecca Worsham, an attorney for the Corning School District.
A preschool student apparently fell asleep on the bus that morning and was left unattended for approximately 45 minutes.
“The child was not harmed and did not require medical attention,” Worsham stated.
