Texas nurse crawls out of massive pileup, goes straight to work
America’s health care workers never cease to amaze.
A Texas nurse who was involved in a historic pileup that killed at least six people Thursday morning managed to crawl out of her car and report for work before she even thought about going to the hospital for her own injuries.
Rebecca Benson, who was one of at least 133 drivers to get caught up in the wreck, was heading to work on Interstate 35 near downtown Fort Worth when the road became dangerously slippery the result of an overnight winter storm that covered the area in snow, sleet and ice. As Benson’s car began to spin on the slick highway, she realized there was a growing pile of cars crashing right ahead of her.
