But I ve been forced into it by the declarations of three mayoral candidates who hope to dethrone Kennedy Stewart on October 15, 2022.

Enrolment has increased greatly since the 2009 opening of the nearby Langara-49th Avenue Station on the SkyTrain Canada Line, and over the last few years the number of international students grew from 1,000 to 7,000. Langara College’s total enrolment prior to the pandemic was 21,000 students.
“I had the pleasure of attending this school as, dare I say, a mature student with an 11-year-old and six-year-old at the time. It was pretty great to be in a college experience with 18-year-old and 19-year-old students in my class, it was a real treat, ” said independent city councillor Rebecca Bligh during the public hearing.
It came down to a 7-2 vote, with NPA councillor Colleen Hardwick and COPE councillor Jean Swanson in opposition, Green Party councillor Pete Fry abstaining, and independent councillor Rebecca Bligh absent.
