(Wyoming News Now) - A Kelly Walsh High School student showed another student a firearm last week, and a Casper PD School Resource Officer was notified immediately and able to quickly and safely bring the student that showed the gun into custody. It was a stark reminder about the role School Resource Officers serve and how important they are for the community. School Resource Officer Ty Mower said these are the kinds of things they train for. “That’s what we anticipate happening every day even though it doesn’t,” said Mower. “It’s very few incidents that have happened like this, but we train for that, and we react accordingly and do our best to keep everyone safe in the school.”
