One wounded in north side shooting Wednesday

One man was wounded in a shooting on the city s north side Wednesday evening.
Wichita Falls Police were alerted to gunshots in the area of Roanoke Drive and Ridgeway Drive about 5:45 p.m.
Officers found Traveon Teague, in a nearby alley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He suffered serious but non-life-threatening wounds, according to detective Sgt. Brian Sheehan. The victim was taken to United Regional by ambulance.
Sheehan said a person of interest was being questioned but no arrests have been made.
Witnesses reported hearing yelling, obscenities and multiple gunshots. They said the suspected shooter chased the victim, firing at him, then got into a vehicle and fled the scene.
Wichita Falls Police released information on the suspect in Wednesday night s shooting on the city s northside.
WFPD spokesman Sgt. Charlie Eipper said detectives have obtained two warrants for a suspect police believe was involved in a shooting that sent 22-year-old Traveon Teague to the hospital Wednesday night.
Eipper said warrants have been issued for Kody Valadez, 21, for two counts of Aggravated Assault.
According to a WFPD press release:
Officers were dispatched about 5:45 p.m. to investigate a shooting call in the 2800 block of Roanoke Drive. They found Teague behind 2813 Roanoke with a gunshot wound.
Teague was transported to URHCS by ambulance and went into surgery. Teague’s wounds are serious, but he is expected to survive.

LONG-TERM PROJECTS
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $53.6 million safety project in the Camino area to replace the existing concrete median barrier and fill in the gaps in the barrier, build an undercrossing, a wildlife crossing, make local road improvements and replace culverts. The project is expected to be completed in 2022. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled on the highway. Westbound Carson Road is closed between Carson Court and Sierra Blanca Road for bridge work. Motorists are being detoured onto westbound U.S. Highway 50 and back onto Carson Road.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work has resumed on an $11.5 million project to replace the U.S. Highway 50 Sawmill (Ridgeway Drive) Undercrossing in Pollock Pines to address the aging bridge deck, improve sight distance, bring the bridge railings up to current design standards and make improvements to Ridgeway Drive, including curb, gutter and sidewalk work.
