Wilton Library and Wilton School District explore racism for Wilton Reads 2021 Written by Janet Crystal Memorial Drive by Natasha Trethewey has been selected for the library’s community-wide reading event,  Wilton Reads 2021. Programs will be on the library’s website at www.wiltonlibrary.org in February and the school district website at http://wiltonps.org. Age-appropriate book selections will be made for the district schools. Free copies of the book will be given away courtesy of Fairfield County Bank in March. The author will visit virtually in April thanks to the sponsorship of The Village Market. Monday, Feb. 1 through Sunday, Feb. 7 Paper Plane Challenge for Grades 4 – 8. The Wilton Library Robotics Team, Singularity Technology, has planned a fun, educational challenge for students in grades 4 to 8. Use your creativity and engineering ingenuity to create a Paper Plane from ordinary materials you can find around your house. Submit a 1-3 minute video of your creation in flight along with an explanation of the materials you used to This email address is being protected from spambots. Oxford Magistrates Court OXFORD MAGISTRATES COURT CHRISTOPHER THOMAS, 57, of Newbarn Close, Thame, admitted drink-driving on the A420 on November 2. He had 104mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg. He was made subject to a community order and must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85. He will be disqualified from driving for 24 months. JAMES BROSNAN, 37, of Richmond Road, Oxford, admitted racial harassment in Oxfordshire on April 25 as well as assault by beating of a detention officer on April 4. He was made subject to a community order and must attend appointments with a responsible officer for 20 days and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £125 in compensation.
