Sticking with what works?
When you lose by 23 points, odds are good no lineup had much success.
So scouring the stats to find what lineup worked and what lineup up didn’t work might not exactly be a task worthy of much time or effort.
But after Paul Weir said over the past week both after the Utah State loss last Friday in Lubbock and after Wednesday’s win at Dixie State that shortening the lineup and starting to find those mixes of players and chemistry among his players was a priority, I found some things from Saturday’s game a bit confusing.
Three weeks after Liberty University closed its dorms, the school Wednesday reported 41 active COVID-19 cases among its students and employees, an uptick from the 18 cases reported last week.
According to the universityâs online COVID-19 dashboard, which debuted Sept. 16 and is updated weekly, 12 students and 29 employees currently are sick with the respiratory illness caused by the novel coronavirus. Last week, eight students and 10 employees were sick.
In-person instruction at Liberty ended in late November for much of its 15,000 students. Classes and exams were administered remotely during the final week, and dorms closed in mid-December, but some student-athletes and employees remain on campus.

Liberty University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams open ASUN Conference play on New Year’s Day and Jan. 2, respectively, at Lipscomb University which the Flames defeated in the past two ASUN Championship games and at home against the Lady Bison.
In the new COVID-19 schedule format, the Flames and Lady Flames will conclude their two-game series the very next day against the same teams at the same locations with the men playing Jan. 2 at Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn., and the women hosting Lipscomb on Jan. 3 in the sparkling new Liberty Arena, adjacent to the Vines Center.
