The province entered Step 3 in the COVID-19 re-opening plan on Friday, allowing facilities like the museum and the Timmins Public Library to open its doors and allow the public to enter.

The museum waited until Monday before opening to the public.
“The moment that the province announced that we were reopening, we did have people coming to the door and shaking the doors last week before we were opened,” Karen Bachmann, director/curator of the Timmins Museum, told The Daily Press.
“When we did open, there was a really good response. “We’ve had a lot of visitors come in already and that has made us very happy. The gift shop of course has opened as well, so there were a lot of people who were waiting for that.

Businesses across the city, including those at Timmins Square, have been welcoming back consumers after Cochrane District entered the third phase of the provinceâs COVID-19 reopening strategy on Friday.
âWhile we had several essential service stores open, this step into Stage 3 has given the mall much more regular activity. We have received nothing but positive feedback since the reopening. Customers are excited to be able to have selection and access to unlimited merchandise.â
