The following statement was drafted by the Illinois Latino Agenda (ILA), a coalition of Latino leaders that works to advance the economic, political and social prosperity of the Latino community. The ILA advocates for action that promotes and respects the dignity and worth of all Latino/a/x communities. It is a non-partisan coalition that stands in solidarity with the indigenous, Black, LGBTQ+ and other disenfranchised communities seeking equity, inclusion and social justice.

A federal judge said Wednesday that she will not prevent the city from issuing a final permit for the rebranded General Iron car-shredding operation on the Southeast Side because residents had not shown they can prove racial discrimination was involved in moving the business from Lincoln Park.
U.S. District Court Judge Mary Rowland issued her ruling in a civil rights lawsuit brought by two Southeast Side residents and a pastor who argued the city sought to move a polluting nuisance from mostly white, wealthy Lincoln Park to a Latino-majority area at East 116th Street and South Burley Avenue. Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s Administration hasn’t actually made a final decision yet, but is expected to issue a draft permit or rejection soon.
PATIENTS turned up to their vaccination appointment in Kinmel Bay only to find out they had been cancelled and rescheduled two weeks earlier. Vaccinations were due to be carried out at Kinmel Bay Community Centre on Friday, April 9 with 69 patients receiving their first vaccination from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB). However BCUHB said the appointments had been cancelled a fortnight ago and the majority of those who had been scheduled to have their vaccination at the community centre had received a new appointment date. It comes after patients in Wrexham said they had received invites to their first vaccination with BCUHB after the scheduled date, and had therefore missed their appointment.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â In October, a concerned mother talked to KRIS 6 News about a street next to her home where children would walk in the roadway to get to school, because the road had no sidewalks and the medians on both sides had overgrown grass.
Immediately after seeing our story, the city of Corpus Christi Public Works Department mowed the medians along Victoria Park Drive, between Wooldridge Road and Quebec Street, to provide paths for children to walk to and from Adkins Middle School.
