St Helen s residents hopeful council will acquire block By Mike Gilmore
Residents at St Helen s court in Dun Laoghaire continued their protest against their eviction today.
They re trying to stop a vulture fund from selling their homes out from under them.
Tony Geraghty is one of the residents at St Helen s court, he s been fighting efforts from Mill Street Projects to evict him for years.
He s one of seven tenants who are hopeful that the local authority will step in and acquire the block.
Having lost his caring job recently, Tony is afraid he ll end up homeless. The money I get on jobseekers allowance, I cannot top up the HAP allowance to afford a place as little as €1,100 or even €1,000.

And even when the houses are built the troubles keep on coming.
Look at Enda Kenny, unwittingly polluting the Lakes of Killarney every time he visits his holiday home in Kerry. The former Taoiseach is a dodgy septic tank away from being up to his bicycle pump in sewage.
From Iarnród Enda to Sewer Rod Enda.
Not only that, but the road to his little house where he owns the hearth and stool(s) and all is in a terrible state of repair. Endaâs bicycle wheels are more buckled than a pre-clampdown Saturday night in Portobello Plaza.
Micheál Martinâs predecessor made an unexpected appearance at leadersâ questions on Tuesday, very much to the Taoiseachâs surprise and most everyone else in the Dáil chamber. It was a welcome diversion from another bout of ratty exchanges between the Government and Opposition over the housing crisis.
